Ruth Irene Workman Hayton, 88 of West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Hospice of Palm Beach, Fla. Ruth was born August 13, 1925, in Logan County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Grady and Quinnie Conley Mounts. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Bill Hayton, and her first husband Stacy Thomas Workman, and one sister, May Damron. Survivors include four children, one daughter, Karen (Noel) Holliday, three sons, Stacy Edward (Dovetta) Workman, Thomas Ray Workman, Grady Scott Workman; two step-grandchildren, Billy Holliday and Noelle Monek; nine grandchildren, Kaci Smith, Shea Workman, Rick Workman, Jason and Jerrod Workman, Holly, Marie, Sara and Stacy Workman. In addition, she is survived by three great-grandchildren, Braden Workman, Amanda Workman and Blair Workman and special niece Patricia Pollock and her husband Michael Pollock. Ruth graduated from Chapmanville High School where she played basketball. She retired from WV Electric and worked a brief time for the Wayne County Schools as a foster grandparent. She lived her final years in Florida with her four children. Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Ron Scarberry, burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, W.Va.
