May 8, 1920 — August 11, 2008

RUTH MAY (DAMRON) HARROD, of Kenova, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 at Heartland Nursing Home in Ohio. Ruth was born May 8, 1920 in Kentucky and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Harrod; her mother, Katherine Prader Damron; and a sister, Anna Louise Jackson. She is survived by a sister, Jessie V. Smith of Heritage Nursing Home in Huntington, and a loving, supportive group of friends, including Linda Lucas, her caregiver. She served on the original board for the Ceredo manor and volunteered for various organizations. Ruth had an active zeal for politics, especially in Wayne County. It has been said If you want to be elected, you need to talk to Ruth! She loved animals, always having pets and feeding strays. At one time Ruth had ten cats, knew them all by name and provided each with their favorite food. Ruth was honest, caring, and spent much of her time praying for others. She will be missed. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home with Minister John Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
