Sharon Queen Bailey

Sharon Queen Bailey, 88, of Catlettsburg, KY, formerly of Huntington, passed away Monday August 8, 2022 at The Village at Riverview, Barboursville, WV. She was born October 11, 1933 in Kiahsville, WV, a daughter of the late Dallas Queen and Opal Perry Queen Cummings. She graduated from Huntington High School, the Southern Seminary Junior College of Buena Vista, VA. and the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. Sharon was a pediatric nurse for M. Bruce Martin, MD for 48 years. She loved her job and was so rewarded by all the love and gratitude she received from her patients. She was also a member of the Highlawn Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother Crayton Queen; fraternal grandparents App and Cora Parsons Queen and maternal grandparents Lindsey and Georgia Frazier Perry. Survivors include daughter Pamela S. Meade and her husband Michael L. Meade; grandchildren Katherine Meade Lewis and husband Carson L. Lewis, Sarah Meade Wamsley and husband CJ Wamsley and Christopher M. Meade and his girlfriend Alyssa Green; nephew Crayton Dallas Queen and wife Penny Hiler Queen and numerous cousins, family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Village at Riverview, Patty Perry, Executive Director; and Director of Nursing, Jacob; and all his caring nurses and support staff for all their kindness and love. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday August 13, 2022 by Pastor Steve Hinkle at the Reger Funeral Chapel, Huntington. Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV.
