Susan Elizabeth Blatt

Susan Elizabeth Blatt, 88, of Huntington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children in Nashville TN, on August 19, 2024. A funeral liturgy will be concelebrated on a future date at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Huntington, WV, with Fr. Adam Blatt, her grandson, and Fr. Paul Vazhapilly.

‘Suzie’ was born on December 5, 1935, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ouida Lockhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl A. Blatt, an infant son, Carl Blatt Jr. and a beloved sister, June Angle. She spent much of her life caring for others as a wife, mother, and grandmother. When her own family wasn’t enough to keep her busy, she immediately found a new family in the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington where she provided a kind, generous heart and listening ear to residents and guests for over 30 years.

She is survived by five children; Desiree (Gregg) Hall, Chris (Joy) Blatt, Bill (Patrice) Blatt, Renee (Dan) Jeffers and Diane (Todd) Gilbert, as well as 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father Adam Blatt. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Huntington.
