Thomas Scott Crossan

September 20, 1963 — November 9, 2024

Thomas Scott Crossan (Scott), age 61, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Medical Center on November 9, 2024 of complications of Type 1 diabetes, a medical condition that he had battled with courage and quiet dignity for 57 years. Scott was born in Huntington, WV on September 20, 1963 and called Huntington his home all of his life.

Scott is survived and missed by his loving and dedicated parents, Thomas and Thomasine Crossan, and his younger twin sisters Anna (Pete) Dunlap of Dublin, Ohio, and Amy (Mel Miller) of Huntington, WV, niece Olivia (Travis) Elkins and great niece Emma Elkins of Lewis Center, Ohio, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his cat, Dirtbag. He cherished the friendship of Becky, with whom he shared many wonderful memories. His loving family and friends will remember his kind heart, sense of humor, and the special moments they shared together.

Scott was a 1981 graduate of Vinson High School, where he was a talented trumpet player in the school band. His Type 1 diabetes rendered him disabled from working since 2005. He could not have had a better caretaker for help with his medical condition than his Mother. He had a lifelong passion for music. Scott was an avid bowler who enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of the lanes. His enthusiasm for technology was evident to everyone who knew him; he loved exploring the latest gadgets, and innovations, and often had to teach his Father how to use his new cell phone. He loved watching Nascar, Marshall football or the Bengals. Scott’s curiosity and interest in the world around him made him a wonderful conversationalist and a cherished family member and friend.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held December 7th, at 12:00 pm at Reger Funeral Home, 1242 Adams Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to The American Diabetes Association Diabetes Research, Education, Advocacy | ADA in honor of his memory.

Scott now rests is the arms of his grandmothers and beloved family members who preceded him in heaven.
