Tom Thompson died suddenly and peacefully Friday, July 27, 2018 in Tucson, AZ. Mr. Thompson was born September 7, 1946. Son of the late T. Graydon Thompson, Sr. and S. Ada Winland Thompson, Tom lived in the Youngstown area most of his life. After a sudden illness, he moved to Tucson, AZ to live with family. Tom is survived by his brother Phil Thompson, sister in law Mary K. and nephew Graydon Thompson. He also leaves behind a sister, Ellen Litwin Wilson and other family, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews) and cousins in the Youngstown, Ohio and Huntington, WV. areas. Mr. Thompson graduated from Springfield Local High School in 1964 and is a graduate of Youngstown State University. He was also a decorated veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Germany from 1968 – 1970. Mr. Thompson received the Mahoning County Humane Society's Dr. W. L. Jones Memorial Award in 1999 for his dedication to the animals of Mahoning County. He was a member of Paradise Church Paradise United Church of Christ in Canfield, Ohio. Where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Tom also enjoyed making model airplanes and was a Cleveland Indian baseball fan. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Saturday, August 4th, at Springhill Cemetery in Huntington, WV with his brother, Rev. Philip E. Thompson, officiating. www.regerfh.com.
