Verna Gwilliams Stevens

Mrs. Verna Gwilliams Stevens, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on December 20, 2020. Born in Huntington, WV on October 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Runyon Gwilliams. The loving wife of the late Billy Lester Stevens for 72 years. Loving mother-in-law of the late Thomas Coglianese. Also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Maxine Gwilliams; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Henry Humphreys; brothers, Harold (Freda) Gwilliams and Roy (Joanne) Gwilliams. Survived by sister Glenda (Larry) Spurlock. Loving mother of her only daughter, Terrie Stevens Coglianese. Grandmother to Billi Lynn (Gerry) Gore, Kelly (Joe) Creed, Renee (Tim) Rogers and Tommy (Patricia) Coglianese. Proud great grandmother to Jay, Nick and Karigan Gore, Preston and Brooks Creed, Sophia and Savannah Rogers. Many special nieces, nephews, and friends. Her faith was strong and she was a long time member of Grace Gospel Church. Most of her adult life she was a homemaker that enjoyed doing things for and with her family, cooking, camping, and shopping for a bargain. Special thanks to her faithful and loving caretakers, Shirley Adkins, Ruby Adkins, and Nancy Day who became part of our family. And thank you to all that have helped and visited during her declining health. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Reger Funeral Home with visitation at 1:30 pm and 2pm service conducted by Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr. Those attending are asked to follow CDC Guidelines and state mandates of social distancing and wearing a mask.
