Verna Mearlyn Auvil

Verna Mearlyn Auvil, 82, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday February 25, 2015 at Heritage Center, Huntington. Mearlyn was born July 18, 1932 in Lavalette, WV the daughter of the late Goldie and Bert Hackworth. She worked many years at First Huntington Bank. She was retired form J.L. Caldwell Company working as an administrative assistant. She is survived by a son and his wife Jon L. and Beverly Auvil. Three granddaughters, Caroline Paige (and fianc Jacob Hunter) Elizabeth Anne and Katherine Amelia Auvil ; two sisters Mary Kinser of Wesport, CT and Mabel Rumbaugh of Huntington; one brother John Hackworth (Debra Hackworth) of Rotonda West, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Mearlyn was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Ford Price. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call between 1-2 p.m. on Sunday. Condolences may be made to the family at www.regerfh.com.
