Virginia Lee Wilks

Virginia "Mom" Wilks, 77, of Huntington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Many have lost a friend and loved one, but heaven has gained an angel. She was born January 20, 1933 to the late Nellie Rood Henderson and Russell A. Henderson, one of seven sisters. Surviving are sisters Jeanette Waggoner of Huntington and Helen Adkins of Proctorville, OH and two surviving brother-in-laws, Don Monway and Lloyd Adkins. She was the loving mother and best friend of Kimberly Miller, whom she cherished and loved more than life itself. Additional survivors include son in law Gary Miller that she admired and loved as if he were her own son, adopted granddaughter Amie Lambert, light of her life, and a host of nieces and nephews, in addition to one special nephew Blake Monway and niece Aleigh Carter. She retired from American National Rubber after twenty years of service. A truly genuine, down to earth caring person that will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all that know and love her. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday at Spring Valley Memory Gardens with Pastor Scott Byard officiating.
