Wanda Lee Staley

Wanda Lee Staley (Bowen) of Huntington, West Virginia born July 22, 1955 in Inez, Kentucky joined our Lord in Heaven on November 20, 2024.

Wanda was raised in Kenova, West Virginia by her late parents, Bonnell & Ina Bowen. She was blessed to be part of a loving family and was the 3rd oldest of 8 children: Marie, Connie, Gary, Bernice, Teresa, Erma, & Cindy.

Wanda married the late Rick Staley on March 17, 1973. They lived in Lavalette, West Virginia and raised 3 children. She is survived by Ricky (Stephanie), Christian (Phillip), and Bonnell “Bo” (Ayrie). She always enjoyed coffee, country music, dogs, and Christmas festivities.

Wanda worked in heavy construction for most of her life with her late husband. She has contributed much to various roads and bridges around the Huntington area. After a long career in heavy construction, she moved onto a shorter path working in home construction. Wanda worked in various retail positions before her retirement.

In her retirement years, Wanda was an avid dog mother. Her dog, Wiggles, will miss her as much as her other loved ones. She was also a grandmother of 12: Sean, Danielle, Bethany, Austin (Cameron), McKayla, Aaron (Leyah), Kamyrn, Kimrie, Bindi, Bryelin, Jaxson, & Pyrete. As well as a great-grandmother.

Some of her most endearing qualities were how she always showed kindness to people she had just met, how she was never afraid to work hard to finish the job, and how she always doted to others about her siblings, children, and grandchildren because of how proud she was of her family.

Visitors will be welcome to join us for funeral processions at Reger Funeral Home in Huntington, WV on Monday, November 25, 2024. Visitation for family begins at 11 am, followed by visitation for all between 12pm-1pm. The funeral services will conclude at Dock’s Creek Road Cemetery at 1:30pm.
