Willa Jean Canterbury

Willa Jean Canterbury, 89, of Huntington, WV passed away on April 22, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 3:00pm at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV

She was born on September 30,1934 in Union , WV the daughter of the late Douglas Canterbury and Biddie Hatfield Mason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Frances Jane Canterbury Smith and several half-sisters.

She worked for Kenny Queen Hardware in Lavalette and worked at Love Hardware in Huntington until it closed its doors. Jean loved the people she worked for and with. Her customers made her so very happy.

She is survived by her daughters and son in law: Veletcia Sue Carpenter Setter and Raymond A. Setter and Leisa Rene’ Canterbury Castle. Grandchildren: Tracy Lyn McQuaid, Mikal Anne Ely and Mike Meadows, Jennifer Marie Setter and Cassandra Jean Castle. Great grandchildren: Chris Willard, Tommy Dunbar, Markayla Hornbeck and Evan Hornbeck, Iantha Breanne Courts, Alex Willard, Jaycob Benjamin Ely, Katlynn Jobe Ely, Jordyn Andrew Ely and Owen Esque. Great Great Grandchildren: Jarell Wiley, Ace Wiley, Kairi Brown, Kamryn Walker and Willow Grace Ely, and very special nephew  Douglas Smith and family.
