William Allen Adkins

William A. Adkins, 73, of Chuluota, Florida passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014, following a brief illness. He is survived by his first wife of 27 years, Mrs. Mary Sue Sayre Street of Knoxville, Tennessee and his current wife of 24 years Andrea (Harrod), his three sons: Chris, Will (Lavi) and Mark (Janet), his grandchildren Tyler, Shayna, Nadia and Ashley, his brothers Ron (wife Cindy) and Gary (wife Marsha). He is preceded in death by his parents William Herald and Nellie Marie Adkins. Bill loved animals including his most recent companion, Pooch, a miniature Dachshund, and Foster, the neighbor�s cat who preferred to live with Bill. Bill graduated from C-K High School (�58) in Kenova, West Virginia, and Marshall University with undergraduate degrees in Economics, English and Political Science. He was employed by Sun Oil Company for 19 years, serving last as district manager. He was an entrepreneur and co-inventor of a computer vision speed detection system. For the past 24 years he has been an OEM representative for Gardner Manufacturing. Bill enjoyed numerous hobbies including travel, reading, gun collecting, target shooting, Formula 1 racing, watching college football and fishing on the pier with his sons. He was consulted by family and friends on a variety of topics from politics to physics, world history and Reds baseball. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Ceredo-Kenova Funeral Home (1135 Route. 60, Ceredo, WV) on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 12th starting at 10 a.m. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. to go to Crescent Hill Cemetery in Ceredo for the graveside prayer service at 11:00 a.m. Bill supported animal charities and animal rescue organizations.
