Yorkie Perry Stender Werth, 78 of Huntington, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Brother Dolphus Perry; burial will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington. Yorkie was born March 29, 1934 in Wayne County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Melvin and Malissee Toppins Perry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Crittenden Stender, her second husband, Richard “Dick” Werth, her step-mother Maxine Perry, her daughter Yorkie Polly Stender and one brother, Walter Perry. Those that survive her include eight children and their spouses, Vanessa (Lewis) Pratt, Crit (Judy) Stender, Joe (Teresa) Stender, Mel (Sheila) Stender, Ethel (Earnie) Earl, Pete (Margy) Stender, Maxine (Kelly) Glancy and Ruth Stender and her husband Bill Hines. A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive as well. Eight brothers and sisters: Stella Mayo, Randall “Buck” Perry, Dolphus Perry, Jo Ann Perkins, Orval Perry, Sue Maynard, Michael Perry, and Melva Maynard, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend and sister-in-law Dorothy Perry also survive her.
