Youngy Bennett "YB" Damron, 92 of Kenova, WV passed away on December 29, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. He was born on August 2, 1925 in Wayne County, WV; a son of the late William Dave Damron and Georgia Martin. Funeral services for YB will be conducted on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Kenova Church of Christ at 1 P.M. with Pastor Joe Pratt officiating with family welcoming friends one hour prior to services. As per his wishes, he will be cremated and his cremains will be buried at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery. YB was a Journeyman for Carpenters Local 302. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII in the 101st Airborne Division. He fought in the "Battle of the Bulge" and he was General Dwight D. Eisenhower's Jeep Driver. He was a member of the Kenova Church of Christ and Masonic Lodge #715 FAM in Rush, KY. YB was preceded in death by his wife, Emma "Frankie" (Moore) Damron; his daughter, Joan B. Miracle; his grandchildren, Shawna McCoy and John Zonner; one brother and all his sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Smallenbarger (Douglas); his son-in-law, Raymond Miracle; his brother, Earl Robert Damron (Betty); grandchildren, Sheila Miracle, Matthew Miracle and Amy Miracle, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
